INTRODUCTION

The course aims to enhance learners' analytical and composition skills through various stages of writing, including prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and finalizing. It focuses on teaching students to write well-organized and complete essays, letters, and reports of various types. Participants are expected to produce well-written essays and create enriching and remarkable content for each composition. This is achieved by adhering to the following framework: a focused thesis, logical organization, content development, precise syntax and diction, and proper mechanics and grammar. The course covers lessons on paraphrasing and elaboration skills, vocabulary development activities, and the coherent organization of information at both the sentence and discourse levels. Additionally, it includes listening comprehension skills and the effective application of critical observation and analytical thinking. Through a variety of activities, such as portfolios, different writing genres, formal and informal presentations, and peer critiques, learners are encouraged to focus on composition skills, content, purpose, audience, and overall clarity, coherence, and cohesion in their writing.
